Job Summary:
The Structural Welder is responsible for setting up your own machine, fabricating and repair simple components, and carefully observe workplace safety rules and standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain safety and environmental health within the shop facility.
· Set up, maintain and break down welding equipment
· Reference blueprints and schematics to ensure component specifications
· Ensure all equipment is in good/safe operating condition.
· Ensure welding procedures are known and followed.
· Ensure high quality fabrication on all projects.
Required Skills & Abilities:
· High level of proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
· Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
· Must have own tools.
· Must have fabricating experience.
Education & Experience:
Basic
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Education & Experience:
Preferred
· 3-5 years of experience.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires a full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks safely.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
