Job Summary
As a Cook at Badlands, you will plan, prepare, and cook our delicious, signature dishes to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers. You help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. You ensure proper food handling, sanitation and follow food storage procedures.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking food orders to meet product quality standards.
- Food preparation and portioning.
- Cook using various stations and utensils.
- Dressing items to order.
- Preparing all menu items and checking for product quality, presentation and consistency.
- Keeping a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Cleaning including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, wiping counter-tops and sanitizing food areas.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to be flexible in all situations based on business need
- Effective communication skills; basic math and reading skills
- Able to work in a team
- Ability to follow directions
- Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at Badlands
- General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry
- Friendly and smiling faces that enjoy providing quality products for our guests!
- A willingness to cross-train on all the stations – it never gets boring here!
