Die/Tooling Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains the BAE die standards manual
• Prepares new die quote specifications
• Member of the QLM team
• Prepares internal die estimates when necessary
• Prepares die quotation summary spreadsheet for each project
• Analyzes quotes and recommends sourcing
• Analyzes customer GD&T and identifies capability concerns
• Leads team feasibility analysis
• Member of the PDT team
• Issues POs to successful die source
• Leads die strip reviews, 50% design reviews, and 100% design reviews
• Orders tryout steel
• Issues bi-weekly die status reports for new die builds based on supplier Gantt charts
• Follows tool builds at die shops
• Attends tool shop runoffs in accordance with BAE die standards
• Schedules home line die buyoffs using BAE tryout requests
• Issues initial Stamping Information sheets
• Confirms gross and net blank weights
• Leads Die Tracker Team meetings and maintains the project data base
• Participates in root cause analysis and C/A for product quality issues
• Recommends new tool sources
• Manages all Engineering Changes
• Ensure tool build shops have correct revision level prints to build from
• Review math data on CAD system prior to releasing to build shop
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
