Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Scrum Master to join our team to support a Cloud-based (AWS) mission critical system for our Government Customer. This person will provide extremely high-level subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. The Scrum Master is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile development environment. Your role will include running daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, managing support tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving. You will be responsible to communicate and collaborate primarily with the engineering, customer success and senior management teams. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have the desire to be part of a dynamic team where you’ll have the opportunity guide the development of portfolio of products.



Responsibilities Include


  • Facilitate daily stand-up, iteration planning, sprint review, and iteration retrospective
  • Manages engineering development projects and facilitates sprint releases
  • Creates or analyzes business requirements documents and project timelines
  • Guides team in time estimating practices and facilitates team estimates
  • Drives team iteration execution, communicates with management and stakeholders
  • Manages project conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance
  • Works with team leads to resolve problems and project roadblocks
  • Able to do post mortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity
  • Provide reporting and analysis to program and customer leadership teams reflecting performance and lessons learned
  • Provide weekly reporting of accomplishments to leadership
  • Leads team effort in relentless improvement, defines and implements improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of the program
  • Implements and supports principles, rules and processes
  • Proactively identifies and eliminates impediments and facilitate flow
  • Maintains team data in project management software (i.e. JIRA and others) to support estimates and execution
  • Presents high level project readouts for senior management
  • Supports product owner(s) with intra-team dynamics with respect to priorities and scope



Required Education, Experience, & Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience and 3 years leading sprints
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Scaled Agile Framework SAFe (TM)
  • Demonstrable expertise of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • Deep understanding of Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment
  • Expert coach on implementation of agile scrum
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Deep understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.) to analyze and improve sprint planning
  • Comfortable with presenting project readouts to Executive level audience


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Over 10 years of experience providing program management for large-scale engineering services programs in support of a top tier US Intelligence Agency in excess of $100M lifecycle value
  • Over 15 years of experience working on Intelligence Agency enterprise infrastructure and engineering programs, including on-site customer engagement
  • Experience with developing and delivering on cost plus based program efforts

The Role:
In this role, you will:

  • Participate in and support program and supplier meetings.
  • Gain broad exposure and support the procurement, proposal, risk management, and supplier management processes.
  • Assist with closing out subcontracts.
  • Support the C4ISR Subcontract Management Team with special projects.
  • Participate in LEAP Intern events and activities.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Candidate for a Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and will have completed at least their sophomore year of college prior to start of internship.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent team player who is willing to contribute and learn.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interest in Supply Chain with a willingness to learn and contribute.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $40335 - $54497

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
