Key Responsibilities
The Electronic Component Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Implementation of sourcing processes and improvement initiatives based on strategic and tactical plans developed by category management.
- Development and maintenance of a supplier base by actively sourcing, identifying, and evaluating suppliers.
- Selection and monitoring of suppliers to ensure their ability to meet delivery and quality standards.
- Collaboration with existing and new suppliers to lower materials cost through value engineering, reverse engineering, new design, alternative substitution, or relaxing of tolerance or standardizing of materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience; or High School diploma and 10 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience in a large, complex multifaceted electronics design & manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations and understanding of the role of procurement in complex industries.
