We are looking for a talented and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our Electronic Systems team. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business areas, leveraging your knowledge of government contracting, regulatory interpretation and compliance, licensing agreements, intellectual property, export controls, and cybersecurity.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense industries, with experience in advising on regulatory compliance matters, including those associated with the aerospace and defense industries. Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with experience in high-value, complex transactions, are also essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and support to business areas with a diverse portfolio of products and services spanning defense, international, and commercial markets.
- Advise on a broad range of legal matters, including government contracting, regulatory interpretation and compliance, licensing agreements, intellectual property, export controls, and cybersecurity.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Negotiate complex government contracts and various types of commercial agreements, contracts, and supply chain agreements, including those with international partners.
- Manage legal risks and provide strategic advice in areas such as technology transfers, data privacy and security, intellectual property rights, and environmental, social, and governance considerations.
Requirements
- A Juris Doctorate Degree and admission to practice in the United States, preferably the State Bar of NH, VA, or NY.
- 10 years of applicable experience in an in-house counsel role in an aerospace, defense, and government contracting environment.
- Experience in international transactions and contracting, including knowledge of export control regulations, technology transfers, and international trade laws.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with experience in high-value, complex transactions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Able to obtain a security clearance.
