Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.
We are seeking an experienced Logistics leader for a newly formed core logistics team within the Electronic Systems sector, reporting directly to the VP, Supply Chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics strategies that optimize operations, improve performance, and reduce costs. This is a critical leadership role that will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This individual will lead a team of approximately 170 employees and contractors in the defense portion of our business, with additional dotted line relationships to the logistics teams in the commercial portion of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies that align with business objectives, as it pertains to shipping, receiving, and inventory controls
- Lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure a high-performing team
- Collaborate with program management, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics activities with program requirements
- Develop and manage functional budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and identifying opportunities for cost reduction
- Implement and maintain logistics processes and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and the FAR
- Foster strong relationships with sector stakeholders, suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners to ensure reliable and efficient operations
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure logistics performance, including on-time delivery, inventory turns, and transportation costs
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Minimum 12 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing logistics strategies that drive business growth and improvement
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, including supply chain management, transportation management, and inventory control
- Experience with defense manufacturing logistics, including compliance with regulatory requirements such as ITAR, EAR, and the FAR
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex logistics problems and develop effective solutions
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification in logistics, such as CLTD or CSCP
- Experience with logistics technology systems, including transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and supply chain visibility tools
- Knowledge of lean principles and experience with process improvement initiatives
- Experience with government contracting and compliance with federal regulations such as FAR and DFARS
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
