Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an Expediter III to join its organization.
You will expedite, route, and dispatch material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments.
You will be responsible for reviewing the master production schedule to determine possible and actual shortages and alert proper authorities of potential problems and barriers.
You will generate progress reports on schedule status and report on completion dates, material changes or substitutions, shortages, and schedule modifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods by coordinating operations
- Identify process gaps and initiate problem-solving using lean principles
- Identify and address bottlenecks in processes to improve efficiency and streamline operations
- Monitor project timelines and identify potential delays, proactively communicating these issues to relevant stakeholders
- Serve as a liaison between production management, manufacturing supervision, material planners, material handling/inventory management, final processing production personnel, and floor support engineering and quality.
- Organize, monitor, and control the timely flow of external or internal material through the warehouse and facility to support both internal and/or external customer delivery requirements.
- Provide status of assigned programs from the time of initial job release through delivery of product to internal customers.
- Manage floor stock inventory control and mitigate material shortages as they relate to open production orders.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED with 2 years experience in a manufacturing facility
- Experience supporting, preparing and monitoring material schedules with production schedules.
- Knowledge of MRP fundamentals and ability to use metrics
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills
- Ability to professionally communicate with stakeholders and customers
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and possess process improvement and problem resolution skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in Defense, Aerospace, Combat Vehicle product development and/or Manufacturing work environment
- Manufacturing/Production Operations, MRP, Materials Planning, Inventory Control and/or Supply Chain industry experience
- Oracle experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $51086 - $81738
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
