Model Based Systems Engineer

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking MBSE Systems Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Integrity, subject matter proficiency, self-motivation, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.

This position is responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and evaluating alternatives including cost, risk, supportability, and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Candidate is also responsible for ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions as well as translating customer requirements into hardware/software specifications. Candidate will be responsible for performing system modeling and simulation efforts and related MBSE tasking to include technical whitepapers, presentations, stakeholder demos, etc. This position will also involve contributing to community IPTs / Working Groups / Communities of Practice.
A limited amount of travel to off-site locations could be required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years professional work experience or equivalent experience
• SysML experience
• Demonstrated Self-Starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Systems Engineering experience spanning the SE Lifecycle
• Experience with broad array of engineering tools/languages including No Magic products, PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D/3D CAD, SysML, JAVA, and MATLAB Simulink
• INCOSE ASEP Certification
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interface with government representatives and internal departments

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
