What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Lead for Electronic Components position at BAE Systems?
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sourcing processes and improvement initiatives based on strategic and tactical plans developed by category management.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that can meet delivery and quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to lower materials cost through value engineering, reverse engineering, new design, alternative substitution, or relaxing of tolerance or standardizing of materials.
- Perform compliance and price analysis supporting documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience; or High School diploma and 10 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience in a large, complex multifaceted electronics design & manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations and understanding of the role of procurement in complex industries.
- Experience leading major procurement efforts in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environment.
