Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking Reports Officers (ROs)/Collection Management Officers (CMOs) to support a client’s operational requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Successful RO candidates will work in an integrated government-contractor team supporting operations. Responsibilities include evaluating draft intel reports for completeness, validity, quality, and sensitivity; managing the production and use of reports while protecting equities; identifying targets of interest and guiding collection and dissemination of reports; anticipating consumer needs and educating consumers on methods, handling, and use of all source reporting; applying risk management principles to safeguard operations; and supporting meetings with counterparts and other intelligence professionals. ROs will be expected to prioritize tasks and provide timely responses. ROs must be able to think critically and communicate highly complex information accurately. Candidates should be comfortable drafting cables and responding professionally to requests for information.
The position requires an active Security Clearance with Polygraph; there is no exception to the clearance requirement. Successful candidates will work well in team environments and also be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision. Candidates will be expected to professionally interact with customer personnel at all levels within the customer organization.
Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in the functions of a RO/CMO. The primary function of a RO is to support operational elements by managing/disseminating foreign intelligence. ROs utilize customer-specific databases to conduct multiple layers of research and write summaries, reports, official correspondence, and guidance. Officers will also be expected to provide thorough and knowledgeable briefings on their findings to customer management. Daily activities include:
- Manage a full range of operational and support activities for overseas missions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for disseminated FI and associated cases
- Provide operational guidance for ongoing cases, ensuring any CI issues are identified to protect the client’s personnel and facilities
- Support particular classified activities, propose recommendations, and identify the pros/cons of possible operational scenarios
- Understand legal and policy issues affecting cases and overseas offices
- Provide in-depth reviews on existing cases, and intelligence assessments using all-source and classified information
- Provide briefings on cases to senior customer officials, identifying potential issues on cases
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in classified databases and develop relationships with various operational components to meet the client’s requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Journeyman level requires three (3) years of related work experience; Full Performance requires seven (7) years and Expert required ten (10 ) years of related work experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience writing cables and with customer databases and tools
- Complete understanding of the intelligence cycle
- Knowledge of, and experience in, the fundamentals of intelligence operations and asset validation
- Knowledge and expertise driving collection; managing the production of reports; and protecting sources and methods
- Active Security Clearance with Polygraph
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Customer experience/certification as a Collection Management Officer (CMO) is highly desired.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
