Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Ordnance Systems Inc. (OSI) business unit.
Responsibilities:
- Supports OSI Finance in engaging with internal stakeholders to identify areas of improvement for processes or reporting and maintain strong collaborative relationships.
- Evaluate situations and provide guidance and solutions to the OSI business.
- Analyze financial statements to provide guidance to the different areas regarding financial performance and metrics.
- Assist in data analytics and clean-up in anticipation of loading the new system with clean and accurate data.
- Support finance department with entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in ERP implementation and process improvements.
- Record complex accounting transactions including preparing and posting journal entries.
- Perform analysis and reconciliation of general ledger account activity.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Evaluate, analyze, and implement changes to policies and procedures.
- Ensure processes are regularly evaluated and tested through various initiatives to ensure strong internal controls are in place for the given processes.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field with 5 years of experience OR equivalent education/experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
- Proficient with Data Analytics
- Experience in applying accounting principles to various projects and business situations.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Fixed asset management experience.
- Oracle experience.
- MAcc or MBA.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $66400 - $112880
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
