The selected candidate will join the Greenlawn, NY Operations team in the Manufacturing Engineering/Technical Operations group and contribute to sustaining engineering, process development, and new process implementation across the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
- Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and best practices to improve processes and address future challenges.
- Develop new processes and implement changes in product flow using lean manufacturing principles.
- Analyze defect data to identify areas for yield improvement.
- Collaborate with others to implement process improvements.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to solve production problems and enhance existing processes.
- Implement poke yoke principles to prevent production issues.
- Participate in and document root cause corrective action (RCCA) using problem-solving methodologies.
- Define and specify requirements for assembly instructions, tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support current manufacturing operations.
- Support the implementation of new automation assembly equipment, including programming, process qualifications/validation, and tooling design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of job-related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to read and use technical drawings, wire lists, schematics, process sheets, and change orders.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Lean manufacturing, Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
- At least 5 years of electronics manufacturing process experience.
- Secret Clearance.
- Graduate degree.
