Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our team in designing and implementing network infrastructure for various government projects. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of low-voltage and telecommunications systems, equipment, components, and products for commercial, industrial, and military purposes.
- Direct activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform tasks such as creating plans, updating BIM/AutoCAD detail libraries, Visio drawings, and coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements.
- Provide technical input for scopes of work and budgetary estimates.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines and the project architectural team to ensure design coordination.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma and at least 6 years of experience developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
- Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.
- Well-versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards, and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Visio for producing floorplans and cut sheets.
