Job Description
The selected candidate will provide C5ISR testing and technical support for the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Special Communications Mission Solutions (SCMS) Radio Integration System (RIS) program. The candidate will provide technical services supporting the testing, troubleshooting, installation, integration, maintenance, modification, evaluation, and training of various communications-electronics (C-E) systems and equipment utilized by Department of Defense (DoD), US Special Operations Forces (SOF), and other government agencies as directed. The candidate will also work with other Technicians, Engineers and Project Managers to provide feedback and resolve issues that are focused on maintaining high production quality. The candidate will be located full-time at NAWCAD Webster Field in St. Inigoes, MD.
On a day-to-day basis, the Technician will be responsible for conducting Stage II testing on a multitude of RF and RF interfacing equipment as well as Stage V testing on Radio over IP based communications systems. Other duties will include traveling to end user/customer sites to perform Stage VII user acceptance testing, assisting in inventory and new equipment training as well as providing technical support to deployed users on an as needed basis.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $29.93/hr (Tech II) / $31.51/hr (Tech III). Job leveling will be determined at the time of interview.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School diploma and at least 4 years of experience
- Communications electronics test equipment experience to include; multimeters, watt meters, antenna analyzers, communications systems analyzers, frequency counters and audio oscillators
- Experience troubleshooting RF communications systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, excellent customer relation skills
- Ability to travel within the U.S.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Knowledge and hands on experience using the L3Harris family of tactical radios
- Basic networking knowledge and CISCO device configuration experience
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
