Software Quality Analyst/Tester

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Software Quality Analyst and Tester to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in writing test plans, strong knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, Arbortext, and a solid understanding of cybersecurity requirements to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

This position is responsible for installing new or revised software versions, function as the test coordinator creating or modifying existing test plans, implement test schedule and supervise execution, with documenting and reporting defects or problems with the applications. Deliver findings to software developers and stakeholders regarding application usability and functionality. Identify project risks, their impact to Fleet Documentation schedules, technical changes, and required resources offering recommended mitigation steps to minimize those risks. identify difficulties an end-user might experience with optional workarounds. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable communicating with management at all levels and willing to mentor and train colleagues. A limited amount of travel to off-site locations could be required.

This position involves administrating the Training Effectiveness Database Management Application (TESDA). Responsibilities address routine and urgent TESDA monitoring, reporting critical events and user access maintenance functions, Help Desk responses to phone inquiries, email queries, and user account creation and account unlock requests. Performs Website maintenance installing and testing security patches, software updates, and conducts STIG compliance audits as needed.



Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer and information technology, or a related field such as Engineering or Mathematics and 6 years professional work experience or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in software testing, including writing and executing test plans, with a focus on SQL Server and Oracle databases and Arbortext
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
• Ability to write and understand detailed test plans and schedules for new releases
• Experience with test execution systems and software release installations
• Experience in training and mentoring colleagues
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Familiarity with common documentation tools
• Familiarity to analyze operational tactical program data
• Familiarity with Training Effectiveness System (TES) Data
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Writing skills must be adequate to write test plans with procedures that execute testing and make the necessary reports and correspondence
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interface with government representatives and internal departments

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
