As an Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) Systems Engineering Section Leader, you will provide Systems Engineering support to programs and manage a small group of Systems Engineers that support multiple programs comprised of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to integrate, debug, and test next generation EW systems.


Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Functional Manager key responsibilities:
  • Staffing: Recruit, retain, train, recognize, develop, and assign SEs as appropriate to meet business area needs
  • Developing individual, group, and organization goals and objectives
  • Communicating flow-down
  • Collecting and providing performance feedback
  • Career mentoring including development of career and training plans
  • Ensuring group members adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies, and vision
  • Tracking program execution through metrics and technical reviews
  • Systems Engineering responsibilities may include:
  • Leading a small or medium team of Systems Engineers on EW related programs
  • Managing system engineering content and work products
  • Understanding and implementing the product development process
  • Schedule and cost account responsibilities for systems team
  • Execution of systems planning and requirements development
  • Creation and review of systems requirements to include, software, component, subsystem, and operational concepts
  • Deriving, decomposing, allocation and traceability of requirements to engineering disciplines
  • Creating and/or review of algorithms
  • Creating system test plans, procedures and reports
  • Leading product design, development, integration, and verification
  • Participate & support outside contact with customers, other contractors and government officials.
  • Manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and with customers.
  • Identify, monitor and report metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures
  • Supports proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Hold an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science and 10 years of work experience
  • Experience with systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
  • EW system design knowledge as it relates to the detection of radar and missile system engagements.
  • Ability to lead teams with diverse cultures and individual differences
  • Ability to formulate a strategic vision and define and implement action plans to achieve goals in a changing environment


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Functional Management Leadership experience (i.e. performance management, mentoring, coaching, communication skills, and staffing)
  • Experience across engineering lifecycle (i.e. requirements analysis, architecture design/development, integration, verification, sell-off, security accreditation, and maintenance)
  • Advanced technical degree or certification relevant to engineering, technical, or business focus
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
  • Experience developing/reviewing technical and cost artifacts for new business activities
  • Experience supporting Trade Studies, Con Ops development, Cost Account Management, engineering initiatives and agile process application
  • Experience with SysML
  • Experience in one or more of the domains or technologies related to Electronic Warfare
  • Experience with RF and EW systems.
  • Experience with Integration and test


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
