Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a well-rounded writer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits and abilities we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.
The Tech Writer will work closely with Subject Matter Experts, Technologists, and other Technical Editors to support the creation of technical data in a format that has consistency across. Will also provide versatile written communication support related to program management, administration, and organizational communication. Will be asked to quickly learn new processes and provide instructions that are succinct and easy to understand. Will understand how to shape style and tone for audience-specific messages. Has the ability to review and edit documents produced by others for accuracy and readability. This individual will also manipulate and update graphics.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, liberal arts, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Can manage multiple tasks in a day
- Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact with diverse work teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience preparing remarks that will be delivered orally
- Can accurately capture spoken remarks to written form
- Familiar with graphic editing, e.g., Adobe (Illustrator, Acrobat)
- Ability to draw higher-level narrative from process/task-oriented documents
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $81156 - $137964
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
