THIS POSITION IS FOR NIGHT SHIFT FROM 6PM-6 : 30AM ON A 2 / 2 / 3 SCHEDULE
We are currently looking for a night shift Production Supervisor to add to our team. This position is responsible for execution of the agreed to production schedule as well as supervising the production workforce, ensuring procedural compliance, and delivering shift goals as determined by management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources
Administer all employee schedules
Provide training to subordinates as per requirement
Efficient assignment and handling of shift responsibilities up to and including stepping in when needed to ensure targets are met
Coordinate with Plant Manager regarding the identification of and justification for appropriate staffing levels
Maintain open and effective communication with operators and site management. Ensure that management directives are communicated and enacted effectively
Production and safety training of production line employees. This includes documentation of training as well as effective follow-up and monitoring
Responsible for interviewing / hiring and terminating employees with Plant Manager and HR approval
Operations
Supervise all everyday production schedules
Assist to resolve all maintenance issues
Maintain record of all raw materials coming to plant
Organize all tools to increase efficiency of all activities
Production shift planning including verification that proper paperwork, procedures, and necessary technical / management direction are in place prior to beginning the shift
Ensure needed management resources are available throughout shift
Identify equipment issues noted during production and ensure these are communicated properly to both management and the maintenance department
Meet shift production goals safely and while maintaining quality and efficiency
Verify that proper in-process control procedures are completed and that all data / samples generated are directed to the appropriate department / personnel efficiently
Operate within standard operating procedures and safety / regulatory procedures. Ensure operators in production facility are compliant with all procedures and requirements
Manage inventory of all plant supplies and ensure accuracy in same according to required policies and procedures and manage all communication for safety standards
Ensure daily reporting is accurate and is provided in a timely manner
Safety
Ensure that there is no one working under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other means of impairment.
Ensure proper completion of required safety, process, and regulatory procedures
Ensure a clean and safe work area, including maintaining a daily EH&S checklist
Perform regular inspection on all machinery and maintain compliance to all regulations such as OSHA and HACCP
Quality
Maintain quality of all products and recommend improvements to production process to improve quality efficiency
Candidate Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Prior manufacturing / chemical plant experience
2-year degree in technical operations, engineering, or other related field (appropriate experience can be substituted)
Proficient in standard business office software
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
Other :
Hours : 6 : 30 PM - 6 : 30 AM. Schedule is 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, then the opposite on the following week.
