Deli Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Deli Associate/Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a key role in maintaining the quality and presentation of our food offerings, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their deli selections.
• Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Utilize Aloha POS or similar systems for order processing and inventory management.
• Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products to customers.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
• Perform basic math calculations for pricing and transactions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a grocery store, quick service fast food restaurant, or bagel shop is preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems, particularly is a plus.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling cash register operations and transactions.
• Knowledge of food safety practices within the food industry is essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
