Job Description
This position is for the general Broward County area. The Employment Specialist is responsible for implementing a plan for each assigned participant in efforts to find a type of employment that fits their job goal and is a reasonable distance from their home. The ES would also aid in the retention of the position for a designated period of time, provide coaching services, resume building, advocacy, and communication on behalf of participant. The Employment Specialist shall follow company instruction and provide a level of service to its participants that meet and exceed the standards of excellence. This is an independent contractor position and is mostly commission based. Applicants will be reviewed based on their resume reflecting the following:
Requirements: Must pass a level 2 background screening and have 1 (one) of the following:
Four years’ experience or employment in a public vocational rehabilitation program; experience in job placement, job coaching, or counseling; or other related experience working with persons with disabilities.
OR
A Master’s Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics, from an accredited college or university, and six month’s experience as described above.
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, human resources, business administration, or economics, from an accredited college or university, and one year’s experience as described above.
OR
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an unrelated field, and two years’ experience as described above.
