Bailey and Son Engineering, Inc. is a consulting engineering firm looking for a Structural/Project Engineer to design and manage industrial and commercial projects. Candidate will:
- Establish and determine cost-efficient structural systems and components.
- Design buildings and structures using structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and wood framing.
- Design equipment and PEMB foundations, and CFS components.
- Perform structural assessment of existing facilities.
- Coordinate with architectural, civil, and mechanical drawings.
Typical projects:
- Light and heavy manufacturing facilities, associated structures and machine foundations
- K-12 school and collegiate facilities – academic / educational facilities, sports arenas and stadiums
- Power and utility, water and wastewater
- Municipal and civic projects, office buildings, medical facilities and hospitals, ecclesiastical facilities
Good written and verbal communications are necessary since the position will be filled with a person who can:
- Prepare technical reports.
- Manage and work with designers.
- Communicate verbally and coordinate with owners, architects, and other professionals as well as contractors for design-build and design-bid projects.
Structural engineering software currently used in-house includes RISA, EnerCALC, Tedds, etc. Drawings are produced with both AutoCAD and Revit software. Microsoft Excel, Word, and MathCAD programs are also utilized.
Self-motivation, self-discipline, and technical knowledge are needed to successfully fill this position. However, honesty and integrity are foremost on the list of qualifications.
Experience: P.E. (or ability to obtain licensure) with a minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
Education: Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
Location: Greenville, SC
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
