We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Supervisor to oversee the management and integrity of patient medical records within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical records management and demonstrate leadership skills to guide a team effectively.
Duties
- Supervise the daily operations of the medical records department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to policies.
- Oversee the maintenance, retrieval, and storage of patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices for medical record documentation and management.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation of patient care, including medication administration and imaging results.
- Implement improvements in processes related to medical records management.
- Address any discrepancies or issues related to patient records promptly.
- Ensure that all staff are knowledgeable about aseptic techniques and proper procedures for handling sensitive information.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid foundation in medical records management, with preferred experience in the following areas:
- Medical records management systems
- Medication administration protocols
- Primary care settings
- Sonography and medical imaging processes
- Behavioral health documentation standards
- Aseptic technique practices
- Experience administering injections or IV infusion procedures
- Travel nursing experience is a plus
