Description
The Billing Specialist is responsible for leading and driving billing efforts across the company, with a special emphasis on key accounts, billing portals and customer retention. Excellent accounting, communication, and organizational skills are required to accurately and effectively comply with billing rules, account billing guides, payments, invoices, database updates, customer communications, and to coordinate internal efforts. Efficiency, accuracy, working complex accounts, project management and the ability to streamline processes are key traits of a successful Billing Specialist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Identify, review, and monitor open documents and unpaid invoices across the company
b) Lead and collaborate across the enterprise on key account billing efforts
c) Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all aspects of sales procedures related to selling Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
d) Write clear and concise billing documents, leading discussions with management to identify and adjust SOPs as needed
e) Provide training to branch employees to effectively support billing protocols and procedures
f) Take initiative to identify, aid and backup accounts assigned to other team members as needed
g) Proactively lead and identify issues contributing to account delinquency while resolving client billing discrepancies
h) Own and accurately maintain customer master data
i) Become a strong liaison to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable when needed
j) Participate in the Bailey Company’s safety, training, and environmental sustainability programs
k) Effective problem solving for all billing and sales coordination matters
l) Available for travel as needed to other locations for partnership building and training
m) Handle other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements

Education/Training/Experience:
- College degree (preferred)
- 3 years of accounting, billing, or account management experience (preferred)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills
- Effective collaborator
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in telecommunications preferred, but not required
- Ability to resolve conflict matters
- Willingness to adapt, learn, and take direction
- Be a positive presence in the workplace to help coach and grow others
