The Rental Manager is responsible for driving rental efforts and performance across the company, as well as ensuring strong execution at the branch level to drive industry-leading customer experience and strong profitability. The Rental Manager is accountable for rental profitability and controlling rental expense, and must be adept at process improvement, project management, and rental operations. Effective communication with staff at all branches is required to maintain and transport the rental fleet. The Rental Manager reports to the Operations Director and works closely with the Fleet Manager, who is responsible for equipment inventory optimization

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage asset lifecycle from addition to fleet to sell/scrap at end-of-life
- Collaborate with Fleet Manager to ensure rental fleet has the right number and kind of units
- Optimize utilization rates by analyzing demand and adjusting fleet with sales team and Fleet Manager
- Help coordinate the logistics of picking up and dropping off rental equipment
- Monitor the number, location, and status of all rental assets to ensure accurate records. Includes but not limited to documenting location, usage, repairs, and depreciation.
- Work with branches to reduce maintenance expense to meet targets
- Identify and implement continual rental process improvement initiatives from customer inquiry to contract generation, and equipment return
- Manage best-in-class check in/out process with quick equipment turns and reliable inspections
- Responsible for continuity and implementation of best practices throughout all locations
- Research and implement new technologies and tools that can improve ability to profitably and efficiently manage the rental fleet
- Research and implement new technologies and tools that can enable a more user-friendly, satisfying customer experience
- Manage rental leads, ensuring leads get assigned to and managed by appropriate Sales staff
- Work directly with customers to meet their rental needs
- Actively manage special large rental accounts
- Assist in the development of training curriculum and deliver training sessions as assigned to staff
- Participate in the development of rental sales promotions and target setting
- Explore new product offerings that are competitive and provide differentiation
- Directly manage rental clerks/coordinators throughout multiple regions
- Directly manage rental technicians throughout multiple regions

- College Degree (required), with degree in industrial engineering or business preferred
- 5 years of experience in material handling or similar rental operation
- 3 years of leading teams
- Deep knowledge of rental management best practices
