The primary objective of the Portfolio Group is to maximize the full potential of an investment during the ownership period. This executive will work in partnership with the Special Situations deal team and portfolio company leadership to lead transformation initiatives and deliver operating goals. These analytical, strategic, and operating capabilities have helped many Bain Capital companies develop and execute strategies to move swiftly to gain competitive advantage and achieve superior growth.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Bain Capital Special Situations portfolio companies to drive value creation strategies
- Build relationships with Executive teams at portfolio companies
- Ownership over financial reporting and governance
- Drive project management of key portfolio company strategies
- Cross-coordination with internal stakeholders within Bain Capital
Building and focusing great management teams
- Cultivating a performance culture within portfolio companies, by developing management processes resulting in action, focus, measurement, and implementing incentive systems to align interests, performance measures, and cultural dynamics.
- Collaborate with their deal counterparts to develop a strategic and operational blueprint identifying clear stretch targets, and a focused and pragmatic plan to achieve the desired end state of the business.
- Identify strategic priorities with portfolio company management, co-develop the implementation plan and support its execution.
- Work closely with portfolio company management over one or multiple years during the ownership period to deliver results through influence, project management, leadership, and direction of external consultants.
- Strong academic credentials (BS/BA from highly regarded institution)
- 5-10 years of work experience, which may include: (1) experience in consulting and/or investment banking, or (2) a finance role at an Academy company, followed by a transition to a business role at the company
- Strong analytical skills, absolute fluency in financial statements analysis / FP&A, top-tier critical thinking and problem-solving key skill sets
- Sets clear direction based on rigorous analysis and thoughtful problem-solving
- Strong capability to develop and organize valued-added initiatives
- Able to drive work products end-to-end at high quality levels and with buy-in from the team
- Ability to work collaboratively with portfolio team management, the Board, and within Bain Capital
- Ability to influence even without “control”; high EQ with ability to work across different corporate settings and cultures
- Good understanding of people and organizations
- Willing to travel to portfolio companies frequently
- Expected Annual Base Salary $150,000-$250,000
- Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location
- Additional compensation: In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team, and firm performance
