Responsibilities :
Assist in planning, organizing, and leading recreational programs to enhance residents' quality of life.
Engage residents in individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, and exercise programs.
Provide companionship and encourage resident participation in activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities.
Assist with transporting residents to and from activity areas as needed.
Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when necessary, including mobility assistance, personal hygiene, and dining support.
Monitor and document residents' participation and progress in recreational programs.
Collaborate with other departments to develop activities that meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents.
Qualifications :
Must hold a valid New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
Previous experience as a Recreation Aide in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate, energetic, and patient-centered approach.
Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with different abilities and interests.
