Job Title: Showroom Sales Representative

Position Overview: Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Showroom Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will engage with customers in our showroom, providing expert guidance on our premium hardwood products. You will assist customers in selecting the right materials for their projects, process orders, and ensure a memorable shopping experience. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for woodworking or building materials, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers to the showroom with a professional and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
• Assist customers in selecting hardwood products, offering expert advice on specifications, applications, and care.
• Educate customers about the unique qualities and benefits of Baird Brothers’ products.
• Process customer orders efficiently and accurately, including invoicing and payment handling.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the product line, inventory, and current promotions to provide accurate and helpful information.
• Collaborate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve any order-related issues.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
• Organize and maintain the showroom, ensuring it remains clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
• Stay current on industry trends and company policies to provide informed recommendations and updates to customers.
• Promote a safe and efficient workplace by adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales, customer service, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience in sales, customer service, or retail, preferably in the woodworking, construction, or building materials industry.
• Familiarity with hardwood products and basic woodworking or building applications is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with customers and build trust.
• Proficiency in basic computer systems and point-of-sale software.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials (up to 100 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
• A positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
