Position: Architectural Sheet Metal Installer
Job Summary: An Architectural Sheet Metal Installer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of architectural sheet metal components on buildings and structures. This role involves working with various types of sheet metal materials, tools, and equipment to ensure that sheet metal systems are installed correctly and meet design specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sheet Metal Installation:
- Install architectural sheet metal components, including roofing, siding, gutters, flashing, and ornamental features.
- Follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate placement and alignment of sheet metal elements.
- Material Handling:
- Select, cut, shape, and bend sheet metal materials according to project requirements.
- Safely transport and handle sheet metal materials and tools.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate various hand and power tools, such as shears, brakes, soldering equipment, and welding machines.
- Use lifting equipment or cranes to position and secure large sheet metal pieces.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to minimize accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with sheet metal materials and tools.
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect sheet metal components for defects or imperfections and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Ensure that installed sheet metal systems meet quality standards and design specifications.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with architects, contractors, and other construction professionals to coordinate sheet metal installations with overall construction projects.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and project progress.
- Provide project updates and reports to supervisors and project managers.
Working Conditions:
- Architectural Sheet Metal Installers may work outdoors or indoors, depending on the project.
- The job often involves working at heights, so the ability to work on scaffolding or elevated platforms is essential.
- Work may be physically demanding and require lifting heavy materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
