About our program:
Baird’s MBA Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a CEO-sponsored 18-month rotational experience that can advance your management career by giving you meaningful responsibility in strategic areas of a thriving financial services company. The LDP offers an opportunity to combine your professional background, academic skills and knowledge of our business gained through formal and on-the-job trainings to move toward a management career at Baird. Throughout the program you will have interaction with senior management, ongoing professional development, executive coaching, and robust assignments.
The LDP Summer Internship provides an ideal path into the full-time program by offering first-year MBA students the chance to explore Baird. We are open to candidates with previous financial services experience and those who are new to our industry. Upon completion of the internship experience, participants will be evaluated for entry into the full-time LDP program.
Internship Location, and Placement Options:
We are anticipating the Summer 2021 Leadership Development Program internship to be virtual. The internship will include time in a business unit and a corporate function.

At the end of the summer, Leadership Development Interns will have the opportunity to be considered for placement in our full-time Leadership Development Program for MBA graduates. The LDP has opportunities to be based in Milwaukee or Chicago.
As a Leadership Development Intern, you will:
Work on specific projects designed to help you gain an understanding of a business unit or corporate function
Be part of a project team responsible for implementing a key strategic priority for the firm
Participate in the annual strategic planning and budgeting process for a business unit
Gain direct exposure to senior leaders at the firm
Be assigned a senior mentor to assist you in learning more about Baird and developing your skill set during the internship
What we look for:
First year MBA student with 3-4 years of relevant business experience
Outstanding leadership skills with enthusiasm, initiative and a passion for results
Strong analytical, decision-making, project management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills and relationship-building aptitude
Ability to balance strategic thinking and attention to detail
Commitment to a management career in a corporate setting
History of career progression and taking on challenging assignments/responsibilities
