In response to our continued growth, we are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support our operations in Springfield. Essential Functions
- Responsible for the design and development of fixtures and tooling related to the enhancement of manufacturing processes for both new and existing products.
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Develop new and optimized manufacturing processes and product testing methods.
- Utilize process mapping and value stream analysis tools to plan space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow patterns.
- Communicate recommendations for changes, prepare cost justifications, and coordinate the design and development of new processes, systems, equipment, or materials.
- Assist engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel in troubleshooting or problem-solving activities.
- Conduct and analyze time and motion studies in order to ensure optimal part/ product flow.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and provide training to others in the organization.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of hands-on engineering experience or 6 years equivalent experience required.
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology training.
- Software experience to include 2-D/3-D CAD/CAM software, ERP Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
