What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
Leading a two-person crew in efficiently managing railcar movements, including operating a yard tractor, switching, and spotting railcars throughout the facility.
Coordinating inbound and outbound railcar releasing through the railroad website.
Completing daily track and railcar inspections to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Backing up all areas of shipping and receiving including processing orders to be shipped utilizing SAP.
Reporting functions including daily railcar inventory, month end railcar movement reports as well as writing and updating SOPs.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years rail switching experience.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be willing and qualified to wear a respirator.
Familiar with FRA regulations
Must be HazMat certified or willing and able to become certified.
Self-motivated and able to perform daily tasks with minimal direct supervision.
Physical requirements: Sitting, carrying, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing, climbing (ladders of various heights), frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in basic computer skills with a strong willingness and aptitude to learn and enhance technical expertise.
Quick to grasp and apply complex technical concepts.
