Establish processing procedures for manufacturing of new products and/or develops procedure changes to improve the quality and performance of existing products using scientific principles. Works as a member of the research team assigned to specific development projects under limited supervision. Performs product testing and evaluation using scientific principles to determine course of action to be taken. Manages complex and innovative projects and works within project timelines. Presents product to internal and external customers at interim stages of development. Documents all stages of development and modifications in compliance with R & D procedures. Determines ingredient and finished-product specifications. Establishes test methods in collaboration with QC for ingredients and finished products. Oversees first production runs to assure proper manufacturing of the developed or modified products. Acts as a technical resource for the cross functional business teams and for multiple BakeMark facilities. Interfaces with Production, Marketing, Warehouse and Distribution, Purchasing, Sales, QA/QC, and outside contacts e.g. vendors/universities. Travel as required to various Company locations and business related events. Attends and supports sales meetings as required. Must comply with the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety rules as well as takes responsibility for housekeeping and sanitation duties for work area and as assigned.
