What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Specialist position at BAKER BOY, INC?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Drive truck to and from specified destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads;
- Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations and other paperwork as needed;
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions;
- Load and unload truck when necessary;
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water;
- Communicate with Maintenance Shop on Preventative Maintenance services
- Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs and tire chains;
- Assist in keeping warehouse areas neat and clean.
PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist freezer/dock personnel as needed.
