SummaryIntern / Co-Opwill be responsible for completing various tasks on the jobsite and will be expected to work safely, responsibly, and productively. This role offers the opportunity to learn about the concrete construction process, project management, and industry best practices while working alongside experienced professionals.Roles and ResponsibilitiesIntern / Co-opwill possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his / her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Note that the areas listed are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by co-workers assigned to this role. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.Assists in site inspections and preparation activities, including clearing, grading, and setting up formworkPlans and schedules job and / or job segmentsReviews plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), pricing of materials, etc.Maintains records as required regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc.Reports any issues or discrepancies to the Project Manager or Construction SupervisorCollaborates with team members on specific projects or tasksParticipates in team meetings and contributes to problem-solving effortsCarries-out assigned tasks and collaborates with team members and managers to resolve issues related to those tasksAcquires practical experience to supplement academic courseworkStays updated on best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends related to concrete constructionInvestigates problems and / or reported incidents, identifying and recommending solutions / alternatives as appropriateRequirementsMust be enrolled in a degree program at a college or university and possess prior work experience in any fieldProficiency in Basic Spanish is a plusThe following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job :
