We are seeking a highly skilled Process Health and Safety Engineer (Chemicals) to join our team in Rayne, LA. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the process safety program for the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive process safety management program for the site
- Ensure compliance with Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) regulations and guidelines
- Prepare and maintain regulatory required plans and procedures.
- Prepare and present regular updates to facility leadership on key HSE/PSM performance indicators
- Expertise in waste management to include waste characterization, waste profiling, and waste minimization
- Facilitate or lead incident investigations and develop corrective and preventative actions
- Perform self-assessments and audits to assure conformance with Baker Hughes HSE management system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, health and safety environmental science, environmental science, or other relevant field
- 1 - 3 years of process safety experience in manufacturing/industrial environment roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team-building, and influencing skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Professional designation as a CSP, CIH, PE, CHMM, or CES (desired)
