Work Hours: 4:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday to Thursday
Summary
The Welder is responsible for preparing materials, assembling components, and performing welding tasks according to engineered drawings to fabricate high-quality end products. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare materials for fabrication processes.
Lay out and assemble components based on engineering drawings.
Perform fabrication tasks, including cutting/threading pipe, thermal cutting, welding, grinding, assembly, painting, and packaging.
Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to meet customer specifications.
Maintain inventory of perishable items.
Follow safe work practices and implement 5S housekeeping techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with measurement tools.
Pipe fitting and MIG welding to ASME code standards.
TIG welding of thin-wall tubing.
Thermal cutting techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
Skilled with hand tools (e.g., wrenches, grinders, drills).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Forklift operation experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of recent welding experience.
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
Education and Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications and Licenses
Valid AWS D1.1 or ASME Section IX GMAW welding certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write basic correspondence and communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials and tools.
Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
Moderate to loud noise levels, especially during grinding operations.
Monday - Thursday 4:30am-3:00pm
Overtime may be required depending on business needs.
Monday-Thursday 10 hours
