Our North America Employment & Compensation Practice Group provides clients with “one stop” domestic and international employment law counseling and litigation representation. We assist multinational companies with their international and domestic labor and employment issues, from expansion into or exit from new jurisdictions to deploying and managing a global workforce, to defending them in litigation in both state and federal court. We “translate” the international landscape for in-house counsel and managers with global responsibilities. We lead cross-border and multi-disciplinary employment projects providing commercially practical support for our clients’ global operations.
Baker & McKenzie LLP seeks an associate attorney for its Global Equity Services/Compensation practice in its San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York office. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience assisting clients in designing, implementing and maintaining global incentive and compensation arrangements (in particular share-based plans), drafting correspondence, memoranda, legal opinions, and other client-related documents, and advising on legal/regulatory/tax matters associated with global compensation arrangements in cross-border M&As, spin-offs, divestitures, IPOs and redomestications. The ideal candidate will also have strong academic credentials and excellent communication and writing skills, and will remain current on issues of U.S. and non-U.S. securities, tax, currency control, employment, and other laws affecting such arrangements. We will also consider candidates with experience advising on U.S. domestic executive compensation and other incentive arrangements, as well as candidates with a strong global tax or global employment law background. Major law firm experience is a plus. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the Bar in the state of employment.

For candidates living and working in our California and New York offices, the annual salary range is between $235,000 and $365,000.
