The Recruitment Coordinator will support all law student recruiting functions for the DC office (e.g. the summer program, law student interviewing process, and entry-level recruitment) and ensure all candidates receive a world-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment and selection process. The role-holder will also support New York and Miami recruitment activities in partnership with the Senior Recruitment Specialist for New York/Miami.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibilities:
- Lead and execute associate recruitment, summer program, and law student recruitment processes to attract and hire top talent
- Active member of the US law student workstream helping to execute the Hiring Committee’s law student recruitment strategy
- Support ad-hoc hiring programs (e.g., LLM and Judicial clerk hiring plans)
- Network with partners, legal recruiters, and other law firm recruitment personnel to stay abreast of the happenings in the legal community
- Build strategic relationships with career services personnel and key law student groups
- Develop recruiting initiatives that impact the overall engagement and recruitment across a wide talent pool
Law Student Recruitment:
- Develop innovative law student recruitment strategies and manage relationships with law school career service professionals and sponsors of job fairs/diverse student organizations
- Arrange and coordinate law student on-campus interview schedules and outreach events/logistics at designated law schools
- Execute call-back interview process, ensuring timely hiring decisions are made in conjunction with local recruiting committees
- Active member of local recruiting committee to work with Hiring Partners to set meeting agendas and attend recruiting committee meetings
Summer Associate Program:
- Plan summer associate calendar, coordinate and execute summer events and activities; Attend all summer associate calendar events
- Lead and discharge ongoing communications with summer associates before arrival, including employment terms/conditions, travel arrangements, housing work assignments, and mentor relationships
- Develop and implement summer associate orientation and ensure their integration experience is of the highest quality and substance
- Serve as a liaison with summer associates to address inquiries or other employment matters
- Work with regional practice leadership to coordinate work assignments, secure performance feedback, and assist in coordinating requisite training
- Secure summer program feedback from summer associates and Firm members, recommend and enact approved changes to the program
- Ensure compliance with the regional offer approval process to extend timely offers
Additional Duties:
- Ensure data integrity of our Applicant Tracking System, recruiting records for responsible offices, law school outreach budget and summer program
- Annual recruitment budget compliance and monthly tracking for designated offices
- Actively promote the Firm on social media channels leveraging the Firm’s recruitment campaigns
- Develop and participate in annual regional recruitment projects as requested
- Participate in various recruiter organizations (e.g., City Group; NALP; Other) to increase personal networking, knowledge sharing, and promotion of the Firm
Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Strong recruiting experience in a professional services organization and/or large law firm, preferably with multi-office and in support of a diverse base of legal practices
- Strong track record in law student recruitment and engagement
- Well-developed and sophisticated written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to relate to and gain the confidence of people at all levels within an organization
- Able to bring good judgement and empathy to sensitive situations
- Strong organizational skills and must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task in a matrix, fast-paced, professional services environment
- Be an active member of various recruiter organizations (e.g., WALRA; NALP, etc.)
This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)benefits based on the number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $65-78k annually if located in an office in the state of Washington D.C.. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
