What We Need
Courier Connection is seeking an experienced Driver Recruiter to help us scale our last-mile delivery business by acquiring top-tier independent contractor (1099) drivers for local and regional driving positions. This role requires an individual who can keep pace with rapid growth, ensure driver positions are consistently filled, and maintain an active pipeline of available drivers for backfill and urgent hiring needs.

We are looking for a dynamic Recruiting Manager who can support our operations efforts by developing and executing strategic driver recruitment plans. The ideal candidate will have strong networking skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and an analytical approach to candidate selection. Experience in recruitment marketing and workforce retention strategies is highly desirable.
What You Will Do
The Driver Recruiter plays a critical role in growing Courier Connection’s fleet of reliable, service-driven professional drivers. You will recruit, screen, hire, and onboard qualified drivers, ensuring compliance with company standards, DOT regulations, and federal/state employment laws while promoting Courier Connection’s positive company culture.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruitment Strategy & Sourcing:
- Develop and implement proactive sourcing strategies to attract and retain high-quality drivers.
- Utilize job boards, social media, industry networks, referrals, and community outreach to identify qualified driver candidates.
- Maintain an ongoing pipeline of independent contractor drivers for new and existing customer needs.
- Candidate Screening & Selection:
- Obtain and review MVR reports, background checks, and employment verifications to assess candidate qualifications.
- Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews to evaluate driver suitability.
- Quickly onboard high-potential candidates to meet operational demand.
- Onboarding & Orientation:
- Facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring all contracting, compliance, and training requirements are met.
- Schedule and coordinate driver orientation sessions and communicate logistics with internal teams.
- Maintain accurate driver documentation and ensure all required hiring forms are completed and filed properly.
- Retention & Driver Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers to enhance retention and engagement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for driver inquiries regarding company policies, compensation, and growth opportunities.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure all hiring activities adhere to DOT regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment databases, generating reports on hiring trends and recruiting effectiveness.
- Assist with advertising and marketing efforts to increase brand awareness and attract quality drivers.
- Proven experience in driver recruitment, logistics, transportation, or staffing industries.
- Strong understanding of independent contractor (1099) and employee driver hiring processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple recruiting channels and build an active pipeline of qualified drivers.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in CRM/ATS software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
