Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sign Painter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all steps in the sign painting process, including preparing materials, HVLP spraying, and hand painting. The ideal candidate is creative, reliable, and has experience with the sign-making process. Pay based on experience, 3 years of sign painting is required and preferably experience with Matthews Paint System. We offer a great work schedule; M-Th 7 am - 4:30 pm and Friday 7 am - 11 am. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings as they relate to product being manufactured, raw materials used to construct product, and required coatings to be applied.
- Clean, Prep, sand, and finish signs.
- Apply paints and finishing materials as specified by drawings, ability to spray and use brushes, rollers and texturing tools as needed.
- Faux Finishing and custom texturing skills preferred.
- Apply vinyl, paint masks to various substrates as needed.
- Must have the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Maintain a clean work area as part of daily painter activity.
Qualifications
- The recipient of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Sign Painting experience required.
- Must have color perception that meets or exceeds requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, apply manufacturer recommendations, manufacturing work instructions, and work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in the English language.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job (lifting, bending, wiping, standing in place) for periods of up to 8 or 10 hours. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability and desire to learn finishing technology.
- Ability and willingness to work with paint products.
- Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well independently to complete tasks.
