Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Case Manager to work within the insurance coverage practice group in its Kansas City office.
For this unique role, the ideal candidate is professional and positive in demeanor, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities and deadlines. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure and quickly learn and integrate new technical skills and knowledge are required for success in this position.
Eligible candidates must possess at least five years of insurance defense experience in a law firm setting. Case management or project management experience is preferred.
All candidates must understand the importance of upholding client confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage voluminous case load for national client.
- Coordinate responses to all incoming client emails and voicemail to ensure timely follow-up.
- Ensure all emails and attached documents are saved in the firm’s document management system.
- Track and follow up on work assignments for attorneys in the insurance coverage practice group.
- Submit, track and follow up on conflicts and new client/new matter intake and assign appropriate attorneys and staff for all incoming cases.
- Manage file closure processes both internally and externally.
- Review and understand guidelines to ensure that all work meets client requirements.
- Coordinate with team to ensure docketing of court deadlines and client reporting requirements is completed for attorneys in the insurance coverage practice group.
- Schedule and calendar conference calls.
- Communicate directly with clients and carriers on various matters including work assignments, deadlines, and billing.
