Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk accurately picks and packs stock for outgoing shipments. This position will follow all housekeeping and safety standards of BTPS.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Using handheld scanners, pulls orders from warehouse, sorts and distributes orders to packing area.
- Packs order for shipment.
- Labels package for shipment.
- Moves labeled packages to staging area for pickup by respective carrier.
- Restocks supplies including boxes, bags, filler materials, etc.
- Maintains work area via light housekeeping tasks.
- Follows BTPS policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment and mechanized equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to operate computer to enter data.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
