The City of Troy, Missouri (est. pop. 14,500), located in the heart of Lincoln County, just 60 minutes from St. Louis, beckons with its charming fusion of rural allure and suburban convenience. Reporting to the Mayor, the City Administrator serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and will assume overarching responsibility for the administration and management of government affairs, city officers, and employees. Under the guidance and oversight of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, the City Administrator will be entrusted with overseeing all real and personal property owned by the City of Troy, and will possess the authority to establish administrative policies. Additionally, the newly appointed administrator will possess the authority to conduct investigations, examinations, or inquiries into any aspect of city departments, providing comprehensive reports upon request by the Board of Aldermen.
Compensation and Benefits
The City of Troy offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a starting salary of $105,000 to $120,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience, health, life & AD&D insurance, LAGERS retirement, employee assistance program, paid holidays, as well as paid vacation and sick leave benefits.
Desired Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree in public administration, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with a minimum of five (5) years' administrative experience in local government, and at least two (2) years as a municipal administrator or supervisor. A master's degree in public administration or a closely related field is desirable. The selected candidate must be bondable, possess or be able to obtain a Missouri driver's license within six (6) months, and be willing to reside in Troy. Relocation expenses will be negotiable on a case-by-case basis.
