Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Litigation Expert who will lead our Forensics, Litigation, and Valuation Services team. This individual must possess extensive experience in Business Valuation and Litigation support, with a strong focus on Matrimonial Disputes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to partner effectively with local law offices to develop business locally. Additional cross-selling opportunities may arise from areas of expertise such as Business Valuation and Advisory Services.
This role will involve championing local initiatives while maintaining a global perspective.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to provide insurance claim and litigation support, prepare damages calculations, and deliver forensic accounting and business valuation services for insurers, law firms, corporates, and other stakeholders.
- Report directly to the Principal and/or Director, participating in all project phases related to the valuation or forensic accounting assignment.
- Prepare, review, and critique complex business valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow and LBO modeling, discount rate computations, market comparator and precedent transaction benchmarking analyses.
- Contribute to post-M&A matters such as breach of warranty claims and completion accounts/earn-out disputes; shareholder disputes; and non-contentious matters for reporting or information purposes.
- Apply knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and IAS to determine Quality of Earnings adjustments for valuation purposes.
- Deliver comprehensive written reports for clients and in support of the named expert for litigation purposes.
- Provide exceptional client service in all client interactions and projects.
- Communicate effectively, both internally and to clients, including those at an executive level.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university in Accounting and Finance.
- Accreditation by one or more professional business valuation organizations and possession of one or more of the following credentials – CPA, CFA, ASA, CVA, ABV or additional credentials such as CFE, CFF, CBAA.
- A minimum of six years' public accounting or forensic consulting experience required. Candidates with a combination of industry/professional service experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with Capital IQ is beneficial.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and solid Microsoft Suite skills are required.
- Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely duty completion.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and comfortably interact with client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings.
- Relevant skills in project execution with hands-on experience in the full life cycle of a project.
- Excellent written/verbal communications and collaboration skills.
- Strong project management and facilitation skills.
- Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed and ability to work beyond core business hours.
