What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Upfitting Technician position at Baker Truck Equipment Company?
We are looking for an Automotive Technician/mechanic/welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible installation of various upfitting parts as well as occasionally fabricating and welding components for a variety of projects, as well as reading and interpreting technical drawings. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in fabricating and welding.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, and specifications.
- Operate various common hand tools for equipment installation.
- Operate welding equipment to weld, cut, and join metal components.
- Use oxy-acetylene torches to cut, weld, and braze metal components.
- Use various welding techniques such as arc welding, gas welding, and brazing.
- Inspect welds for accuracy and defects.
- Maintain a clean work area.

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
