BakerHostetler is seeking a senior-level affordable housing associate or counsel (6-8 years of law firm experience) to join its nationally recognized Affordable Housing team. This team works with for-profit and nonprofit developers, along with investors and governmental entities, to develop, acquire, construct, finance, operate and preserve housing in Texas and other locations across the country.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $250,000 - $280,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance- and hours-based bonus program. Qualifications Include
- 6 years of relevant law firm experience focused on affordable housing transactions, including affordable housing finance, development and incentives.
- Experience with all types of affordable housing transactions including LIHTC closings (4% and 9% transactions), refinancing, acquisitions, dispositions and exits. Experience representing all sides (i.e., developers, syndicators/investors and lenders) preferred but not required.
- Work includes up-front planning and issue spotting to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various transaction documents and conducting necessary due diligence, as well as overall project management and direct interaction with clients and opposing parties.
- A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.
- professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment;
- the ability to take the lead on deals and interface with sophisticated and demanding clients;
- the ability to work in a high-pressure and face-paced environment;
- the ability to meet and beat tight deadlines;
- clear and concise communication style (oral and written) with clients, and team members.
