What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attorney Recruiting Coordinator position at BakerHostetler?
BakerHostetler is seeking a dynamic and experienced Attorney Recruiting Coordinator to join our Cleveland office. The Attorney Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting of lateral associates, as well as entry-level and summer associates. This role is pivotal in supporting our attorney hiring initiatives and will report directly to the Director of Recruiting. This role will also work closely with office and firm leadership. This is a Hybrid opportunity, with four days a week in-office and one day remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Hiring Efforts: Work closely with the Firmwide Recruiting Department, Cleveland Office Administrator, and Office Managing Partner to achieve attorney hiring goals, including law school students and lateral attorneys.
- Summer Associate Program Management: Implement and oversee all aspects of the summer associate program, including onboarding, work assignment monitoring, mentor assignments, social event planning, and managing mid and end-of-summer reviews.
- Law School Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key contacts at law schools. Register for on-campus interviews, resume collections, and employer events.
- Search Firm and Candidate Interaction: Engage with search firm recruiters, lateral attorney candidates, and law school students. Manage interview process, including scheduling interviews, soliciting feedback, and following up on offer decisions. Keep internal and external stakeholders appraised of candidate status.
- Committee Coordination: Organize hiring committee meetings and prepare necessary materials.
- Event Planning: Coordinate and plan law school recruiting and outreach events, including logistics such as vendor contracts, budgets, menus, and room setup.
- Database Management: Maintain and update the applicant database, create candidate files, send status updates, complete audits, and manage candidate correspondence.
- Financial Organization: Manage and oversee recruiting department budget for Cleveland office.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Mentor Program Assistance: Support the co-leaders of the Cleveland Associate Mentor Program with various initiatives.
- Marketing: Coordinate updates needed for marketing materials and research popular items and assist with the selection and purchase of BakerHostetler branded “swag” items.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in Recruiting Department meetings and assist the Office Administrator and Firmwide Recruiting team with additional projects or tasks as needed.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including expense reconciliation, calendar organization, meeting and travel arrangements, and interdepartmental communication, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience
- Law firm recruiting or professional service recruiting experience preferred
- Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail required
- Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events
- Make appropriate, informed decisions regarding priorities and available time
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of viGlobal Suite is a plus
