BakerHostetler is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its Washington, DC office. The candidate would work with our regional, national, and multinational clients as a member of Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Salary
The expected annual salary range for this position is $XXX,000 - $XXX,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. Patent Agents participate in a discretionary performance bonus program. Qualifications Include
- Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience focused on chemical sciences;
- A PhD., M.S. or B.S. in agrichemical sciences, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or a related field;
- Experience in laboratory or corporate research; and
- USPTO registration.
- Must have the ability to interview inventors and ascertain technical details to be patented;
- Review patent applications and complex terminology;
- Analyze data to advise or recommend solutions;
- Draft patent applications and claims;
- Analyze claim rejections and prepare strategic response and/or amendments; and
- Possess a strong academic record and/or research credentials along with excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
This position will be located in the Washington, DC office.
