Scope / Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to oversee and enhance Food Safety & Quality (FS&Q) programs, policies, and procedures in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, fosters a quality-driven culture, and drives continuous improvement to exceed internal and customer expectations.
This position is for Second Shift with the primary hours of 1pm - 9pm.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Primary Duties :
Lead the development of a high-performing team of Quality Assurance (QA) technicians through training, goal setting, and performance management.
Monitor and verify the implementation and effectiveness of Food Safety and Quality systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Conduct internal audits, manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and facilitate external audits and inspections.
Secondary Duties :
Oversee daily FS&Q checks, manage product holds, and determine dispositions based on quality analysis.
Support cross-functional teams, including R&D and production, on special projects and process improvements.
Oversee the calibration of equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements and ensure certifications and related training are completed on time.
Collaboration :
Partner with production and management teams to implement quality initiatives and resolve issues effectively.
Serve as the primary liaison with third-party providers for pest control, chemical supplies, and microbiological labs.
Compliance :
- Ensure adherence to GMP standards, FDA regulations, and company SOPs.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and certifications.
